Baclofen is a Prescription Antispastic drug and used to treat muscle spasms caused by certain conditions (such as multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury/disease). It works by helping to relax the muscles.Baclofen is a gamma-amino-butyric acid (GABA) derivative used as a muscle relaxant.
- The exact mechanism of action is unknown but It’s thought that baclofen blocks the signals from your nervous system that tell your muscles to spasm.
Dosage:
For muscle relaxation:
- Adults and teenagers—At first, the dose is 5 milligrams (mg) 3 times every day. Then, each dose could also be increased by 5 mg every 3 days till the required response is reached. No more than 80 mg ought to be taken within a twenty-four-hour period.
- Children—Use and dose should be determined by your doctor.
Pregnancy:
